Final Fantasy - The Chronicles of the Calm.

Story:

Based 25 Years after the events of Final Fantasy 10-2, Spira has moved into new stages of prosperity thanks to the Calm. However, not everything is as it seems in Spira, and it’s up to the new generation to calm the latent stirrings of the world.

Rules:
1.Posts must at least be four full lines.
2.No godmodding, no powerplaying
3.Keep relationship PG-13 (Gay, or straight). If you wish to go beyond, do so in PM’s.
4.No Killing without Consent.
5.PM either me when you believe you are deserving of a rank up, or have a question. Post Overdrive in your first post. Do not PM me without reasons for your belief, or else I will clean tell you no.

Jobs

A job or class is what the OC’s initial skills are. Depending on the chosen Job will discern which equipment your character can carry on you, as well as what Overdrive, skills and statistics you have. The 'Class Changes' work similarly to Dresspheres, however, you can only have two, and your characters main Class will be their strongest, so chose carefully.

Gunner
The Gunner allows you to shoot an enemy from afar. This Class has excellent accuracy and fair speed. However, the more powerful shots like Scatterburst take much longer to charge than weaker shots like Potshot. The Gunner's most useful abilities include Scatterburst, Tableturner, Enchanted Shot and Cheap Shot as it ignores a targets defence stat.

Thief
The Thief allows you to steal items (among other things) from enemies. As such, it has high speed, agility, and fair luck. Again, the stronger moves like Master Thief have a long wait. It is the fastest Job. The Thief's most useful abilities include Flee, Steal, Pilfer HP, Pilfer MP, Pilfer Gil, and First Strike.

Warrior
The Warrior allows you to slice an enemy with strong (non) elemental strikes which means they have good strength and very high defense. The Warrior's most useful abilities include Power Break, Armor Break, Magic Break, Mental Break and Excalibur.

Gun Mage
The Gun Mage is quite weak in all areas except Magic. Fiend Hunter, which deal 4x damage to specific fiend types, are where it really shines. They also have the Blue Bullet skill, which works similarly to traditional Blue Magic, in that the character learns the ability by having it performed on them and surviving the battle.

Alchemist
Alchemists can use several items from a limitless "stash" and mix items together to make stronger items. The Alchemist's most useful abilities include Mega-Potion, Elixir, Phoenix Down, Mix, Chemist, Elementalist, and Items Level Ups.

Samurai
This Job has high attack and is very useful for dispatching large groups of enemies with abilities like Fireworks and Zantetsu. It also has the very useful ability Clean Slate, which heals the user and removes harmful status effects.

Dark Knight
This has great HP, attack and defense, and also has fair magic and magic defense. Dark Knights have abilities such as Poison and Break to harm enemies. They also have attacks which drain the user's HP in order to cause damage, and Black Sky, a powerful multi-hit attack. It is also notable that this job has more statusproof abilities than any other dressphere.

Berserker
This Job has a low defense rating, but is balanced by great HP and strength. Pair this up with a Haste-inducing accessory and you have a killing machine. Berserkers can double their max HP with Howl, and can inflict Berserk status on themselves.

Dancer
This Job relies on the character's dancing and singing skills to inflict status ailments on enemies or to support their group. Some of the dances are useful, and the songs are great for giving a slight increase in stats.

Black Mage
This Job allows characters to cast devastating spells that are harmful to their enemies. A Black Mage wields elements such as Fire, Water, Lightning, and Ice. They can also cast an Osmose-like ability called MP Drain. The choice weaponry of Black Mages are moveable puppets, controlled by the will of their mage.

White Mage
White Mages equip rods, however, they cannot attack, casting White Magic, or healing magic. The HP is pretty low but it has excellent Magic Defense.

Gambler
As their names would imply, Gamblers rely on chance and luck in battle. Their abilities consist of random effects that are extremely powerful when successful, but quite detrimental if unsuccessful. Gamblers use unorthodox weapons associated with gambling, like dice and playing cards. Their trademark ability is Slots, which allow them to pull slot wheels to initiate attacks based on the results.

Trainer
This is a version of the Mediator. Trainers attack by giving orders to pets. Each animal accepts different commands and perform different abilities. This is similar to releasing monsters, except the monsters are permanent.

Mascot
The Mascot is capable of a wide range of functions in battle, and can be considered the ultimate Job.

Summoner
One of the weaker jobs, this class requires to make pacts with Aeon spirits in order to learn new skills.

Machinist
A job of mediocre privilege. Resembles the trainer class, however, the monsters are replaced by powerful, self-made Machina.

Overdrives

Overdrives, much like in the games, are progressive in this RP. An overdrive can only last so many posts per rank, normally in direct link with that Overdrive (For example: If you use Swordplay’s first rank ability, you can only post it’s use once every overdrive). So as to make the game slightly fairer, the use of Overdrive’s is limited per however many posts (Depending on Rank and Skill wanted). Upon reaching a higher rank, we will explain the limitations of that rank.

Swordplay
Swordplay is the ultimate skill of Warriors, amongst other sword-based classes. Swordplay allows the user to deal masses of damage depending on their level of Overdrive. This overdrive ranks up with use.

Grand Summon
Grand Summon allows the summoner to summon an Aeon at ‘maximum power’, triggering their Overdrive. Grand Summon ranks up with every pact made,

Slots
Used by blitzball players and gamblers, this overdrive results in random, powerful attacks. This overdrive is advanced by winning blitzball tournaments or poker games.

Fury
The overdrive of all spellcaster classes. It allows the caster to bypass the normal rules Spellcasters must apply by, and cast any succession of spells repetitively. These spells are limited to the spells currently known. Is ranked up by the character learning a wider variety of more powerful spells.

Ronso Rage
Unique to Ronsos. This overdrive allows them to use any skill they have currently learned in battle, imitating many monsters and dealing critical amounts of damage. Ranked up through battle.

Bushido
The ultimate overdrive of most sword users. This overdrive is commonly used by Samurai and/or Dark Knights. A person, or character can only learn this overdrive by fully mastering any one of the swordplay skills. The arts, or attack used in this overdrive can only be learnt by learning one of the corresponding Swordplay overdrives.

Mix
The overdrive of the alchemist. This overdrive allows the user to mix any two elements, regardless of complications. This overdrive is not ranked.

Trigger Happy
The ultimate skill of Gunners. This overdrive allows the user to hound out the enemy with a rapid procession of bullets, lasting an approximate time according to stage. The later levels of this overdrive can mix other Gunner Skills into this overdrive. Gets ranked up with use.

Red Rage
This overdrive is unique to Human/Al-Bhed-Berserkers and Blue mage classes. This overdrive allows them to use any skill they have currently learned in battle, imitating many monsters and dealing critical amounts of damage. Same as Ronso Rage.

Black Arts – Bushido
The negative version of ‘Bushido’. This overdrive is most commonly used by Dark Knights, but can be utilized by Samurai. Skills derived of this overdrive deal great damage to the user. Sane as Bushido.

Machina Maw
Unique to Al-Bhed, this overdrive allows the user to summon a ‘Grande Machina’ handcrafted by Al-Bhed. New skills for this overdrive must be inherit or built onto it by the Al-Bheds.

Races

Races affect how your OC will interact and move about the world of Spira. Depending on your race, certain Jobs will not be accessible to your OC.

Humans
The most commonly found race of Spira. Can use any of the Jobs listed above.

Al-Bhed
The Al Bhed is a near-human tribe of technologists. Making up ten percent of the Spiran population they are notable for the unique language that they speak and their use of Machina, a technology prohibited by Yevon.

Ronso
The Ronso are a race of leonine-looking humanoids from the world of Spira. Ronso live on Mt. Gagazet and guard the sacred mountain fiercely. They are formidable warriors, being very tall and amazingly strong, and are known for their strong sense of honor and loyalty, as well as their pride and quickness to anger. Cannot have the following jobs: Dancer, Alchemist, Machinist, Mascot and Summoner.

Guado
Guado are an arboreal humanoid race inhabiting Spira. They are the protectors of Spira's afterlife, the Farplane and of the Macalania Woods. After Sin was destroyed, the Guado fled to the dying Macalania Woods after learning that many of the other races of Spira (especially the Ronso) despise them for what they did under Seymour's leadership. Cannot have the following jobs: Dancer, Alchemist.

Hypello
The Hypello are a race of aquatic creatures. They are quite slow on land, but in the water, they move as quick as other fish. Not one seems to have grasped the common language's pronunciation in Spira, as they say words such as Shay (say), Ebullibody (everybody) and Yesh (yes) as well as ending most of their sentences with a questioning tone when unnecessary. Cannot have the following jobs: Samurai, Dark Knight, Dancer, Summoner, Trainer, Berserker.

PPS: Your character will not be limited to the job you give them initially. In fact, I would like most OC's to be progressive, and thus Job Advancements can occur. However, similarly to Overdrives, you will have to PM me when you believe you are deserving and why you believe such. OC's who advance through Job Advancement should also initially be stronger then OC's who were already at their peak, in that case occurrence, do not get angry at me or that OC's user.

"Femm oui kad uvv uv sa?!!" Spyro bellowed as his head was once again nearly smacked into the steering gear of his Airship by the girl who was swinging on the back of his captain's seat. Usually he didn't mind her antics, it was actually quite amusing to watch most of the time. But when he kept sending the ship into a nosedive for a few brief seconds and scaring the living daylights out of pretty much everyone else on board, including the Hypello they'd picked up a while ago.
Annoyingly his shout was ignored by the brunette girl, it only being met with a loud giggle. His eye twitched and his violently lurched backwards, knocking her off the seat.

"AH!" Sparx wailed as she flew backwards and landed on the wooden floor with bump. "SAYHEA!" She squealed at him as she carefully rose onto her feet, rubbing her backside where it felt bruised from the impact. "SAYHEA!" The girl repeated glaring at the blonde boy.

A grunt escaped Denithan, his coat draped around him and holding his legs back against the railing. Across from him were the two problematic siblings, and as he stared from his upside down universe, he slowly started to notice a pattern to their fights. It would almost always start off with Sparx annoying Spyro, until Spyro finaly got angry enough to do something stupid, and they'd almost always end up in these exact positions. All the same though... there were a few things that annoyed them about them and the first of those two being...

"Guys, what the HELL are you saying?" A quiet voice loomed out at the two from the corner of the bridge, a girl with brownish blond hair crumpled over herself and holding her stomach...

"My brother is a meanie! A big, evil err..." Sparx whined before running out of words to describe her frustration with her older sibling. "A big, evil, foofyhead!" She finished, a look on her face that one couldn't quite understand. Maybe it was smugness or pride in the fact she'd found a word that she felt worked, even if the rest of Spira didn't quite understand? Or maybe it was just a sulky face? As always, she was the only one who actually understood what she meant.

At this point Spyro smacked his palm into his face and sighed disbelievingly. "You can be such an annoyance sometimes Sparx. Honestly..." He muttered, shaking his head so his long blond locks waved from side to side. He was more then aware that Sparx and his constant bickering in Al Bhed must get on his team-mates' nerves, but quite frankly he didn't care. It was his ship and he'd talk whatever language he wanted to, it'd taken him long enough to even get the damn thing.

"I'm siding with Spyro for once..." Denithan muttered, unhooking his leg from the nearby railing, and standing up straight. "This is actually getting dangerous Sparx..."
He said the last bit with a frown as he dusted off his clothing, his eyes searching the bridge for anything even remotely dangerous that may have just broken. Luckily, his eyes only found their way back to the younger of the two siblings.

Leanne slowly pulled herself upwards out of her bubble, sitting calmly back down at her desk, and turning to her computer, resting her head lightly next to the keyboard in an attempt to calm her raging headache. Sparx's answer hadn't even registered from the looks of it, as she just stared clean through her.

"I was just playing around..." Sparx mumbled, hanging her head and shuffling her feet from side to side. She knew that she'd been acting more then just a little reckless, but it had been fun. And Sparx occasionally, well more then occasionally, didn't quite know where to draw the line. Sometimes she was bubbly and fun, others she was just a hazard.

"Well don't play around like that when I'm trying to fly!" Spyro snapped at her as he turned slightly to head in a different direction. "I have enough problems concentrating on what I'm doing without you swinging around on my back."

Denithan sighed. What went on in that girl's head was beyond him, but even so, seeing her so miserable wasn't the nicest of experiences, and he could already feel himself half giving into her side of the argument. That was probably why he merely went on to ignore her, turning instead to Spyro. "Spy, where are we?"

"We're currently just north-west of Luca." Spyro replied quickly, when it came to locations and anything at all connected to their missions he was always precise and perfect. "We're supposed to be doing something here, Leanne won't tell me though until we actually get there because she has too much fun being enigmatic." He sighed, flicking his hair out of his eyes.

Sparx, as though suddenly electrocuted, jumped upwards and grabbed hold of the railings of the stairs that lead up to Leanne's computer station. She hauled herself over and skipped up to her. "So what are we doing in Luca then?" She enquired, tilting her head to one side inquisitively.

The small girl smirked quietly, merely shaking her head. "You'll have to wait just like your brother. I'll tell you one thing though, it's going to be fun." She smiled brightly as she finished her sentence, looking calmly over at Spyro before turning back.

Denithan shrugged in response, looking up at Spyro from his position just below him. It was odd, really, looking up at Spyro. Almost like quietly awaiting a series of events to play out in the world around him...

He yawned tiredly, resting his back against the nearby wall and staring out through the massive window held at the front of the Airship. He didn't truly mind. In fact, it had been his reason for joining these two. The feeling of adventure... of something new...

"I'm not going to end up in a moogle suit again right...?" Sparx asked worriedly, her brow furrowing slightly. A couple of months ago they'd been called into Luca to hand out free balloons and leaflets, which Sparx hadn't really counted as freelancing but money was money. And one of the group needed to wear this ridiculous costume, and it had been to small for the two men. Leaving it with her.

Carefully Spyro directed the ship so it was directly above Luca's harbour, quickly he flicked on Auto-Pilot and and leapt off his seat and walked purpose fully over to the two girls.

Leanne giggled lightly as she spun around on her chair, a few coupons clasped tightly in her hand. A bright smile beamed over at them, as she delicately jumped off her chair and flashed one of the two coupons in front of Sparx "The boys are going to be playing blitzball!"

Spyro lunged forward and grabbed the tickets, his eyes bulging in disbelief. "Oh my god!" He exclaimed as he inspected them closely. "These are actually real! Like real, real!" Ever since he'd been a little boy he'd be fascinated by the sport, and once he'd grown big enough he'd started to learn to play it himself. These days, although he didn't play much, he was still one of the best Al Bhed players in the world.

"Oh that's not fair!" Sparx whined, disappointed that her brother had gotten to do something awesome whilst she was stuck with nothing but the memory of that tortuously hot Moogle suit. "What do I have to do while these two are splashing about?" She complained.

"You can stay here and help Barkeep with all his cleaning." Spyro laughed, ruffling his little sister's already messy brown hair.

"Cruja uvv!" She said shoving his hand away from her head.

Leanne snatched the coupons back with surprising agility, hiding them behind her back and glaring up at Spyro. "Me and SPARX are going to watch. You and Den have been hired to play. That's all, okay?"

"Wait, what?" Denithan's voice came around the corner in a slightly hushed tone, his visage following it's appearance. "But... I don't know how to play blitzball..."

"Don't worry about it, so long as you can hold your breath for a long time it'll all be fine." Spyro said to Den, not really looking in his direction as his eyes were still firmly on the paper in Leanne's hand. "And I was just kidding anyway, geez, can't you two take a joke?" He chuckled.

Swiftly, and surprising agillity, Sparx brought her left leg around Spyro's and managed to knock him to the ground. "No more then you can take a kick to the shin it seems." She cackled cruelly, revenge is often described as being a dish best served cold. Sparx would disagree, she thinks of it as best served piping hot with a bowl of chilli-peppers next to it.

"I can't swim." Denithan stated suddenly, his eyes tracing around his feet as he clamped his hands in his pockets. It wasn't exactly something to be proud of, in a world almost completely made out of water, to not be able to swim. But, it was the truth, he really couldn't. No one had ever bothered to teach him anything beyond 'Keep your head above water'.

"Seriously?!" Sparx exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise. "Oh my god! How did you survive this long?" She asked, never being one for tact.

"I just tend to... float I guess..." Denithan mumbled back, turning away slightly. "Besides, there are other ways to get around other then just sea. Heck, we're going by air right now!"
