"That's one in the same to most people."

Elle sobbed harshly, sounding as though even breathing as painful. It was a cry that she hadn't let out for a couple of months now, the cry that crept up on her in the dead of night and reminded her that her baby had died. That she had watched her beautiful daughter die, and could do nothing about it.

"I just don't understand why you seem to hate her so much..."

She clung onto him tightly, burying her face into his shoulder. Tears were streaming down her face as she struggled to catch her breath.

"There was nothing they could do Shawn..."

Weakly, through the heart-wrenching sobs, Elle managed to stammer out; "He did... He did mean it... And that just makes it worse..."

"They did protest it. They tried to stop her going, but she got taken away by authorities. And with The Trace on her they never would have succeeded in running away."

"W-Why am I t-the ba-bad gu-guy...?

"They tried their best, that was all they could do."

"I-I-I di-d-did e-ev-ever-everything..."

"They're just as upset as you are..."

Elle sobbed again.

He snorted " if you say so"

Elle shook her head slightly. "I don't want to go near that boy right now..."

"Oh, you gonna make me cry like you made mum cry then?! Be Mr Big Man!?"

"I don't know what I did wrong..."

"I obviously did... The kids did nothing to deserve any of this..."

"Fucking bring it on!"

"I'm just a shit mother... God knows what I'm going to be like with the new girl..."

Nate tore his angry eyes away from his brother to look at the new arrival.

"I'm really not... I just slapped my son..."

"Shawn made Mum cry." He said bluntly.

"It's still not exactly brilliant behavior..."

"I'll tell you about it later..."

"You want to go in...? She might be here..."

Nate waved slightly.
