"Nah, it's fine." Lana said, shaking her head dismissively. "I've got plenty to think about, and I don't want to get distracted." She explained. And this was true. As what was basically the leader now she had to think about how everyone was going to survive. It was only luck that they were managing to survive. Luck that this was such an old house that you could still power everything without the use of resources like electricity, which although it was holding up right now it probably wouldn't forever.

"Well, Juliet was a girl that lived at Wammy's with us. Obviously. And well... She had a bit of a thing for your Dad. And he didn't really care, or at least that's how it seemed. You know what your Dad was like. And she spent most of her time in trouble because she'd been trying to get him out of trouble." Scout explained, trying her best not to start laughing at some of the more random occurrences of Wammy's House.

Shadow sighed. The girl was really just too difficult to deal with, it seemed, and judging from the atmosphere, a considerable amount of time had passed since he had originally entered the room and judging from the look of Lana, she could do with a meal or two. "Well then, I'll go make us some lunch in the meantime anyway."

Liz smiled as Scout strained herself not to laugh. It seemed life had really been fun at the Wammy's, and a slight tinge of jealousy filled Kat at the thought. Unfortunately for her, however, a slight growling permitted the air, a light blush rising up on Liz's face as she turned away from Scout slightly.

"Okay then..." Lana replied, not really sounding all that enthusiastic about it at all. Food had never been a priority for her, unless it was sugary or high in caffeine. And now as she had something that was so much more important to her to worry about food was right down at the bottom of her agenda. "But I'm really not that hungry..." She added on, a small part of her didn't want to make the boy prepare something she knew that she would most likely eat two bites from and leave.

"You all right there Lizzy?" Scout asked, jumping back over to her and peering into her face with her big brown eyes. Her tone was a mixture of sweet concern and mischief as she knew full well getting up into people's faces like this usually caused people to get even more embarrassed.

It was later in the day now at Midnight's manor, and the man himself had finally come out of his self-imposed isolation in his reading room. Now he was sat in the main lounge on one of the large sofas. He had his arm around the youngest member of the household, his little angel Michelle.
As a man of culture he wasn't very interested in the film that Michelle had brought down to watch, after all scary movies really weren't that scary when the world had already collapsed around you. But if it made Michelle happy it made him happy. If it was what she wanted then it was fine, he would tolerate it for her. And, as an added bonus, he had her hiding her face in his shoulder every so often.

The film that Michelle had grabbed was 28 Days Later. A zombie film. And now, in hindsight, she'd realised that watching a film about zombies when you lived in a completely desolate area was probably not the best of ideas. Her pulse was racing and every time an Infected came on the screen with their terrifying shrieks she would cower and curl up into Midnight's embrace. And every time she did so he would stroke her ringlet hair and calm her down again. It was for things like that that she loved him.

Michelle wasn't the only one in the room that was finding the screaming monsters on the television hard to stomach, Annabelle had been caught up in it as she'd still been in the room when Midnight had come in. And the man scared her, an awful lot. And she didn't want to seem rude by leaving, so instead she was sat on another sofa and shaking violently. Even her breath was shaky. She'd never handled scary films well, let alone when the reality was pretty much right outside your door.

Shadow sighed, not bothering to look back as he left the room. The way he saw it is the girl would eat what she would eat, and it'd be better then if she had gone hungry.

"I... I'm fine" Liz replied, blushing lightly at the slight growling that had erupted from her stomach. "It's just that... well, we've been out here all morning... and I'm hungry..."
Her voice slowly dropped as she finished what she was saying.

Hein chuckled silently, keeping his voice down so as to not anger Michelle, and by extension, Midnight. It was funny, however, watching the ever-wise Annabelle freak out over something so unrealistic, especially considering Kira was killing mostly everyone he cared to think about. Still however, the temptation eventually got to him, his arms calmly wrapping around her as she freaked out.

A dark room encircled him, a calm breeze permeating the air from the nearby air-conditioner. A slight humming from a TV bordered the room, yet another announcement made in 'his' honor. It was pathetic, really. First, he was merely killing them them out of boredom, or more correctly, out of some self-satisfying need to show he was better then them. Now, however, now they had just plain pissed him off, treating these killings as "God's Mark" or whatever. What? Did they think that just because they were unsuccessfully trying to climb up his @$$ that he wouldn't kill them? No. If anything, it would only encourage him...

Lana sighed sadly and stroked Near's hair once more, knocking the snowy curls from his sweatdropped forehead. "I miss you..." She mumbled, her hand still resting on his face.

"All right." Scout sighed, straightening up again and stretching. "I guess we should head back, I don't think we'll be finding any turkey. It was a long shot anyway..." She said. She'd wanted to find something, anything to bring Christmas a little more to life. Though, in the current world, there was no alive any more. Only dead and surviving.

As there was another scary moment Michelle jumped, clinging onto Midnight and pressing herself against him. She really did regret choosing this film, there was a reason she was too young to watch it. But no, she had to be cocky and believe that she could do whatever she wanted to.

Midnight tighted his grip on the child, and whispered quietly too her. So quietly that no one else could even tell he was if it wasn't for the fact he had pulled her closer so his lips were right not to her ear. "Don't worry 'chelle." He mumbled softly. "It's just a film. There's no way zombies could exist."

She blushed slightly as she felt Hein put his arms around her, he heart rate too another turn upwards. Only this time not from fear. But the warm, heart-fluttering sensation was cut short.
At the same scary moment that made Michelle cower in fear Annabelle jumped too, suddenly finding herself holding tightly onto him. Her face hidden in his shoulder.

There was a quiet knock on the door and a beautiful young woman put her head around the door. Her hair was golden and down to her waist, soft as silk and just as glossy. Her eyes were a piercing blue, a colour so perfect that it seemed that it wasn't possible for them not to be contacts. And she was wearing a red satin dress that glided over all of her curves, making her look like a Hollywood movie star at the Oscars. She also had a large diamond necklace dipping down into her voluptuous cleavage.
"Matt...?" She asked softly, as she was trying her hardest not to anger him or draw the wrong kind of attention.

"I'm sorry Scout." Liz apologized, her lips twisting slightly at the sudden loss of energy Scout seemed to of experienced. "We'll just look around really carefully on the way back, right?"

"Hey, are you two quite ok?" Li laughed, risking the chance to piss off Midnight. "We CAN change the movie if you two want?"

"What?" Matt replied, anger and annoyance intermingling with that one word, as he quickly tossed her a quick glance, a long jacket strewn across the upper reaches of his body. His eyes studied the girl, her physical assets, and other such... things before he fervently turned away, waiting patiently for whatever the hell it was she had interrupted him for.

"It's fine Lizzy. I wasn't really expecting to find anything anyway." Scout smiled, patting the younger girl's head. "Come on, let's head back. It's freezing and up to our knees out here." She said, tugging the girl's wrist as she scampered off in the same direction that they had just been walking from. Trying her best to step in her footsteps from before so she didn't end up tripping over a concealed log.

"No!" Michelle protested in her usual spoilt tones. "I want to see the end of it!" She whined, looking from the screen to Hien and then up at Midnight. Although it wasn't true, she was enjoying having an excuse for being all over Midnight. And to have him touch her and hold her.

"Let her watch it." Midnight's commanding voice said, looking straight at the younger man with his piercing eyes. "If Acacia wishes to stop watching all she has to do is leave the room." He explained, his tone softening slightly as he eyed the quivering wreck of a girl clinging onto the boy.

"S-Sorry if I'm interrupting..." She apologised quickly, cowering back slightly. She was a shadow of the sexual predator she had once been in his presence. He scared her, he could do anything these days. Anything he wanted. "But it's Christmas... And the girls want to see you. Even if it's only for an hour or so..." Debbie explained, fiddling with the necklace, the only thing that denoted her superiority to the rest of the harem he'd collected.

"You sure, Scout?" she asked, following after the young women as steadily as was possible when being dragged one arm in front of the other through god knew how much snow.

Li cursed slightly under his breath at the response. It wasn't that he was objective to watching it, he just hated people acting as if they knew exactly what he was thinking. And unfortunately, Midnight was just the kind of guy to do it, and that you couldn't do shit back to.

Matt sighed in annoyance, rubbing his temples slightly at the not-so-welcome interruption. If it had been anything else, he could tell that both he and Blondie knew EXACTLY what would happen, but unfortunately those two were perhaps one of his only valuable assets remaining, and it wasn't exactly something he could just pass up at the press of a button. "Fine." he inevitably replied, seeing no real way out of it. It seemed he still had at least an hour's worth of torture ahead of him no matter what he did, so perhaps spending it where such time actually bore fruit to SOMETHING would be better then idly staring down the world that now cowered in fear from him.

"I'm sure." She grinned, finally letting go of the girl's wrist and leaping over the same log as earlier.

"Yeah!" Michelle said in a smug voice, backing up what her 'boyfriend' had just said. But the glory of her victory was quickly cut short as she squeaked in fear of another infected charging towards the main characters through the many sheets in the courtyard they were stood in.

Midnight sighed slightly and placed his hand protectively over the back of her head. He was still completely non-plus'd by the film but, as stated before, it was what Michelle wanted. And what Michelle wanted, Michelle got. No matter what it was.

Annabelle was still too afraid to move, now not only from the presence of Midnight but from the terrifying creatures that filled this room. And the plot she felt that the military in the film were planning.

"Thank you." Blondie replied, bowing her head slightly as a sign of respect and gratitude. "I'll go fetch them straight away." She said, brushing her hair from her face before quickly turning on her stiletto heels and disappearing out into the corridor with a swish of scarlet fabric.

"He-!" Kat squirmed, her body tumbling forward as Scout suddenly released her grip, a sudden log coming out from underneath her and flinging her face first into the blistering cold snow.

Li shrugged slightly at the girl's changing enthusiasms. The movie had never been something he had much interest in, and now that Midnight had put him in a bad mood, he was all but burning the movie then and there. Letting go off Annabelle silently, the man quietly left the room, his quiet companion merely following after him as the door came to a crashing close.

"Make it quick!" Matt yelled out at her, his annoyance brimming with the nearly useless bimbo. Other then for his night time 'snacks' and caring for the girls, the girl was honestly barely worth his looking at anymore. It was only pure luck he hadn't killed her long ago, but nowadays that would only serve to disadvantage him.

"Oh!" Scout exclaimed as she turned around to see the child fall face first into the snow. A tiny giggle escaped her before she bit her lip shut. "Y-You okay?" She enquired, stuttering over her withheld laughter. As cruel as it was to laugh it amused her, then again most things did. It was the most you could ask for these days, just to keep your sense of humour and be able to live a vaguely normal life like they did.

As he left the room Annabelle watched him through the gaps between her fingers as she cowered from the screen. She was now shaking even more violently, so much so that even the two on the other sofa could tell she was more then just a little freaked out by the scary film.

Midnight observed the girl for a little while and exhaled, blowing the shorter hair at the top of his forehead to waver just a little. "Acacia," He started to say, his voice once again a warmer version of his usually cold and harsh voice. "Maybe you should leave the room, no one will think any less of you for it. Zombies just aren't your thing." He said, never taking his eyes off of the young woman.

"Ar-Are y-you su-sure...?" She whimpered, the words tailing off into a pathetic yelp as she jumped at something that wasn't even there on the screen. This was the first time she'd spoken to Midnight in months, he scared her just that much. But at the moment the zombies were even more terrifying then him.

"I'm positive. And I expect the plot line that comes into play in this part of the film isn't something you'll particularly want to hear." He explained further, giving her more reasons to leave the room as he could tell that was what she wanted. "It might bring back some unpleasant memories for you."

"O-Okay..." Annabelle agreed, forcing herself with all her might to push herself off of the sofa. Then, after taking a deep, apparently relaxing breath, she fled the room as fast as she could. Only to collapse with fear again once she'd gotten half way up the east staircase.

How life had changed, Debbie thought as she brought the kids down from their playroom. She had one kid's hand in one of her's and the other child in the other. This had never been how she expected to live out her twenties. Stuck in a post-apocalyptic world with a man who hated the sight of her, head of a western harem of girls she knew were less attractive then her but were still favoured more. Mother of two children she didn't even remotely love, care for yes but love? Every day suicide was getting more and more appealing. But she feared death, above all else. If it wasn't for the fact he could kill her at any moment she would of ended this long ago.
Carefully she opened the door again and released her grasp on the two young blondes.

"Daddy!" The girls both squealed in unison as they dashed over to him. As usual for special occasions the girlier of the two girls, Sophie or 'Shiro', was dressed in a beautiful white dress and her long blonde hair was pulled up into cute little pigtails that reached her shoulders. She was the first to run over to the white haired man, their father.

The more intelligent and thoughtful, yet still boisterous one followed behind her sister. She refused to run over, she might be excited to see her father but running wasn't going to make any difference. She was dressed in the opposite manner to her sister. Although her dress was still beautiful it was as black as night. And her hair was pulled up into a single ponytail that ran down just off centre of her back.

Kate's eyes grew with a slight resentment as she pulled her hear up out of the snow and stared down her annoying superior. "I'm fine." She puffed angrily, cupping a small ball of snow in her hands and hiding it quickly. "Let's just get moving."

Li slammed his fist up against the nearby wall, clenched teeth showing through his obviously morbid mood. That man... Midnight. He was so self-obsessed. So stuck up his own @$$ he almost acted like Kira HIMSELF. So, how did that work? They work with Kira to find Kira and let Kira take over? Where was the sense?

"Shiro." Matt directed his voice calmly down at the young girl standing just before him. "What have I told you about running with nice clothing on? And Kayla, as refined as ever, I see. You wouldn't be striking out to replace your father, would you, young lady?"

"Do you want a hand there?" Scout asked, the smile of amusement fading into one of care. She extended a hand out to her younger companion. "You'll catch your death if you stay in that snow." She added on with a giggle.

Annabelle jumped slightly, picking her head up from her shaking hands and looking up the stairs towards the source of the racket. She thought to herself about how frustrated Li had seemed before taking off just a few moments ago. And how angry he was when he'd taken off. Slowly she pulled herself to her feet, holding shakily onto the banister for support. Annabelle then began to make her way up the curved staircase and headed in the direction of his room.

"Sorry Daddy..." Sophie said, hanging her head. Feeling as though she'd once again put her foot in it. She was barely not a baby and she already could tell that she was going to have to struggle to keep up with her younger sister. "I won't do it again..." She mumbled, fiddling with her skirt's laces.

"Maybe." Kayla giggled playfully as she finally reached her father's seat. "At least one of us has to have some quality." She smirked, glancing at her sister. Right from the day she was born you could tell that Kuro had inherited her father's and her mother's egotistical nature.

"Sure" Kate agreed, smiling playfully as she brought around the cupped ball of snow from behind her and tossing it at the older girl before safely clawing herself away from her.

"Li, calm down." Yoshi's calm, brooding voice seemed to boom out against Li's sudden flourish of anger, almost no hint of emotion reaching out from within the depths of his voice. "What good would it do us for you to lose your cool now, of all times?"

Matt smiled at the more refined of the two children, detecting a slight hint of maliciousness in the young girl's voice. However, he couldn't allow the statement to hang as if he had some agreement with it, else he would risk angering the more open of the two, and one lapse of judgment was all it took for his whole line of defense to come crumbling down. "There is some quality in the both of you, my dear. Whilst one of you is wise, and as brilliant as her father, the other could quite well grow to hold the hearts of so many that she herself would become a force to be reckoned with."

"WAH!" Scout screamed, diving out of the way as quickly as possible. Still catching the edge of the snowball on the back of her head. "That was sneaky!" She squealed at the younger girl, brushing the snow out of her brunette hair. "Bad bad girl!" Scout giggled.

Upon hearing Yoshi's tone Annabelle stopped just short of the door, unwanting to interrupt whatever conversation the two of them were having, it sounded deathly important. And she hated to cause him any problems, all she wanted to do was help Li.

"I'm still obviously the better one." Kuro grinned smugly, tossing her curls in a satisfied manner.

"Oh shush..." Shiro sniffled, trying her best not to cry. She knew she was less favoured then her sister, and she didn't like it.
